The Fire and Gas Detection System (FGS) is a redundant fault-tolerant controller based on a Tricon TMR (triple modular redundancy) architecture.  The system has three main processors.  All I/O signals are triplicated and processed by a two-out-of-three voting scheme of the hardware to ensure redundant fault-tolerance of the system.  Every main processor contains a 32-bit CPU running under a 3-2-1-0 mode.
In line with the application characteristics of the FGS, the Group has developed a special control software package called "FGS Alarm and Control System Software V3.13", which enjoys its own proprietary intellectual property right.

In the industrial field, the FGS is an essential security system. With the economic development, people’s demands for safety, healthiness and environmental protection are ever-growing.  As such, the FGS will play an increasingly important role.  It must be capable of operating on an uninterrupted basis and effecting shutdown and firefighting operation when required.

 

The Group’s FGS is up to the following domestic and international standards:

l       NFPA-72National Fire Alarm Code

l       EN54-2: Fire Detection and Fire Alarm System

l       DIN 19250 TUV AK-5,6/IEC61508 SIL 3

l       China National Fire Fighting Certification: GB 4717-93 Fire Control /GB 16808-1997 Flammable Gas Monitoring

The Group’s FGS has the following features:

l          Triple redundant fault-tolerant structure which warrants high safety and reliability.

l          The fire detection and gas detection functions are integrated in a single controller.

l          Equipped with 24-hour UPS. 

l          Contrary to the SIS, the FGS normally operates under an unelectrified or a recurrent mode. 

l          The remote I / O has a maximum link distance of 12 KM which best suits the requirements of the integration design of FGS for joint factories. 

l          It can make automatic fire situation assessment, activate all or part of the fire facilities, and communicate with the DCS and SIS systems to direct shutdown of processes.

l          It can communicate with the addressable fire alarm panels to enable an overall detection of the production sites and office buildings.
